NC R.E.A.C.H. SUMMER PROGRAM

SUMMER 2021

CNSTNT DVLPMNT had the opportunity to be a part of the NC R.E.A.C.H. Program, a free STEAM summer enrichment program sponsored by Northern Granville Middle School,
the Boys and Girls Club North Central NC, and NC Cooperative Extention.

Throughout this 6 week online program, we shared the process of sneaker design using our
Creative Discovery Tools. The students ranged from rising 6th through rising 9th grade.

GETTING INSPIRED

Each class started off with words of affirmation to get everyone in a positive mindset.

We then showed students how to be inspired by the world around them and how they could apply those stories to their designs.

LIVE DEMOS + FEEDBACK

After getting inspired, we introduced the basics of sneaker sketching with step-by-step instructions. Students were able to receive real-time feedback on their work done during class.

PROFESSIONAL GUEST SPEAKERS

Students also heard from professional designers who talked about their journey into the industry and their creative process.

Quentin Williams of Q4 Sports

Jamaal Galloway of Everyday Diligence

The students were even more inspired after listening to these industry professionals that look like themselves.

STUDENT SHOWCASE

We always made time for students to do a daily sketch. It was awesome to see how enthusiastic they were to share their work! You can view some of their “Daily Doodles” from class below.
